Mission:
The mission of the Local History Committee is to provide a forum for its members to share and discuss the various matters related to management of local history collections.
In addition, the committee seeks to promote awareness of resources available in libraries, archives, museums, historical societies, historic sites, colleges and universities, as well as other similar institutions, and to explore ways in which these resources can be utilized to effectively foster a better understanding of the region’s local history in the broader community.

The Local History Committee’s annual Local History Programmers Showcase will be held at SCLS (in the auditorium) on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 10:00 am- 1:00 pm.
