Fran Romer was a Young Adult Librarian at the Northport-East Northport Public Library, but her influence has been felt by teens and librarians throughout the county- in large part through her work on the Executive Board of the Young Adult Services Division (YASD) of the Suffolk County Library Association (SCLA).
The Fifth Annual Fran Romer Memorial Teen Services Workshop featured keynote speaker Nancy Werlin, acclaimed author of books including Rules of Survival and Impossible and her editor, Lauri Hornik. Nancy and Lauri discussed the editorial process of writing Impossible, as well as Nancy's writing style and the creative process of brianstorming and conceptualizing her novels.
