Setting up a Minecraft server is simple enough \u2014 but do you know the game well enough to run your own program? In this hands-on workshop, participants will get to learn Minecraft by playing it together on a MinecraftEDU server under the guidance of teen librarian, Stacey Sansone. In a relaxed environment designed for Minecraft newbies, we\u2019ll cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What Minecraft is, why it\u2019s important and what the technical requirements are.<\/li>\n<li>Basic gameplay and game mechanics in simple terminology.<\/li>\n<li>The difference between student and admin level access.<\/li>\n<li>How \u201cteacher mode\u201d works and an outline of more advanced modules.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Register online\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1CXc3Bb8jGtOwDuHwx_1TtK_tWqKaPGqMdUzzsLCkCsk\/viewform\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Location:<br \/>\nThe Technology Center at the Mastic Recreation Center<br \/>\n(15 Herkimer Street, Mastic, 11950).<\/p>\n<p>Payment:<br \/>\nProgram is free for CATS members;<br \/>\n$5 for non-members, due at program check-in.
