MOSAIC Meeting: Tuesday, January 12 at 9:30am

MOSAIC will be having our first meeting of the new year on Tuesday, January 12, at SCLS.   Coffee will be at 9:30am and our meeting will start at 10am.

We will be having a roundtable discussion covering two topics that were proposed at our last meeting: best practices of welcoming parents of English Language Learners (ELL) in the library and English conversation groups for adults.  Our hope is to put together a one/two page information guide that can be shared. Please bring your ideas and/or resources to contribute.

If you have any questions, please contact Amber Sroka: srokaamber@middlecountrypubliclibrary.org or Gilda Ramos: gramos@pmlib.org.

New Members Welcome!

Emerging Technology Meeting Follow-up

Ellen Druda did a quick overview the new products and trends showcased at the Consumer Electronics Preview  show in NYC last month.

You can find more about it here: http://lj.libraryjournal.com/2015/12/technology/consumer-electronics-show-previews-trends-to-watch/, including further discussion of predictive consumerism and aggregated learning.

Dave Jones from Westhampton did a terrific presentation on Virtual and Augmented reality and it’s applications in libraries.  Thank you Dave!

Looking for some libraries host 2 of our quarterly meetings in 2016.  They usually run 9:30 to noon, with the typical coffee set ups.

Can any library host Thursday March 17
Or
Thursday December 8?

Please let Ellen know – thank you!
