Sponsored by the RASD PR & Marketing Commit
Thursday, August 20, from 10-11:30
NYU Professor David Vinjamuri and Architect Joe Huberty of Engberg Anderson Architects will discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic will change libraries’ short- and long-term approach to space. As so many libraries re-opened quickly, it’s a good time to re-evaluate how these new norms will change library design in the future. How can short-term furniture purchases and layout changes be made strategically so that funds won’t be wasted once the pandemic runs its course? Vinjamuri and Huberty also will update you on the latest thinking for safety considerations, including a discussion of HVAC system performance and public restrooms.
Vinjamuri and Huberty have just co-authored an article published in the May/June Public Libraries Magazine on this topic which you can read here: https://ala.informz.
