As of August 1st, SCLA has now become a Regional Chapter of NYLA and we are thrilled to be able to offer you both joint membership of SCLA and NYLA, and a stand alone membership of just SCLA. We have paved the way this year by becoming the first ever Regional Chapter of a State Association, we will now be looked at as a model by other associations and organizations, the board and I take great pride in being able to bring you this opportunity, not only today but for the future of SCLA.

Come join your colleagues for a morning of discussion and resource sharing on March 13, 2013 at the Brentwood Public Library by attending the SSD Annual Roundtable. Superstorm Sandy has left behind immeasurable grief for our communities. We are asking you to support our fund-raising effort on behalf of the community of library workers in Suffolk County affected by the storm. These people are our family, and we must care for them. Some lost their homes and possessions, some suffered severe damages. We can’t fix that, but we can show them we care with a monetary gift. The Public Library Directors Association of Suffolk and the Suffolk County Library Association have joined together with SCLS to create a fund to support this effort.
