Join us for the CATS/TIF Annual Meeting, featuring virtual guest speaker Rob Thomson: NSW State Manager of the Australian Library and Information Association! He’ll be discussing the purpose of ALIA, intregrating technology into libraries and tall but true tales of his life in libraries. There may be singing and occasional dancing, but no promises! This program will be held via Zoom. There is no registration fee.

Career & Business Reference Services Committee (formerly the CARE Committee) will be hosting a speaker from Suffolk County Department of Labor, Licensing & Consumer Affairs on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 2:30pm via Zoom.

Find out which services are available for both civilians and veterans.  Patrick will discuss the job portal through the Suffolk County Forward website, as well as the kinds of assistance veterans can receive beyond job assistance.

Serving LGBTQ Youth in Libraries, 11/4 at 10 am

NCLA’s Young Adult Services Division (YASD) and the Long Island Library Pride Alliance (LILPA) are excited to announce that we will be holding a virtual workshop called “Serving LGBTQ Youth in Libraries” on Wednesday, 11/4 at 10:00 am. CEUs will be awarded to those who attend.
The virtual presentation will provide an overview of the LGBTQ community, various identities, and how to best work with them in an inclusive way.
