Long Island Library Conference postponed until 2022

Long Island Library Conference postponed until 2022

When we were last in touch with you, we were hoping to see you on Thursday, May 13th of 2021 at our annual conference.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we will be able to hold our conference in person in a way that will keep our attendees and vendors safe during the COVID pandemic.  Because of this, the Long Island Library Committee, a joint committee of the Nassau County Library Association and The Suffolk County Library Association, has made the difficult decision to postpone the conference until May 12th of 2022.

While it may seem premature to be making the decision not to hold the conference in May, please understand that the planning required putting together our annual event takes over 10 months.

Aside from outstanding programs, the Long Island Library Conference is known for providing the  opportunity to connect with current and past colleagues, to network, and to establish or strengthen relationships with vendors – all of which our attendees enjoy doing in person.

In addition, the interactive nature of our conference floor makes it almost impossible for us to provide a virtual experience that would come even close to the quality to which you have become accustomed.

We would rather postpone the conference until the following year, giving the public health situation more time to improve, so that we can bring you the quality programs, networking opportunities, and vendors you deserve – in person.

Again, we appreciate your loyalty and are grateful to you for standing with us during this unprecedented time in all our lives. We sincerely hope to see you all, up close and in person, on May 12, 2022.
