SCLA’s Annual Networking Night will take place on Thursday, May 31st from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Old City Public House in Ronkonkoma. Join us to meet and mingle with library staff from across the county. DAVE ROMAN

Dave Roman is the author/illustrator of the Astronaut Academy series and writer of the graphic novels Teen Boat! and Agnes Quill: An Anthology of Mystery. He has contributed stories to Comics Squad: Recess!, Explorer: The Mystery Boxes, Nursery Rhyme Comics, and Goosebumps Graphix: Slappy’s Tales of Horror. Dave was a former editor at Nickelodeon Magazine, and is currently editor for First Second’s Science Comics series. He lives in Astoria, NY and draws the weekly webcomic Starbunny, Inc.

The Long Island Libraries and Pop Culture Conference (LIPopCon) is a yearly conference that provides library professionals and library and information science students with the latest information about trends in pop culture. Covering everything from anime and manga to video games and movies to science fiction and fantasy to graphic novels and comic books, LIPopCon informs attendees of  the latest in pop culture and how it affects libraries.
