Please join the CARE (Career and Resource Exchange) Committee of RASD for our November 16 meeting at Suffolk County Library System.
Dave Sullivan from Family Service League will join us to talk about the Flexible Employment Program. This program provides vocational services to individuals with disabilities and is sponsored by the NY State Department of Education ACCES-VR. The program offers diagnostic evaluations and teaches computer skills, interviewing, job search skills, development skills, and placement. The organization also offers aftercare support and vocational counseling. Family Service League serves people with mental health conditions, developmental disabilities, substance abuse issues, legal histories, and physical disabilities.
Please join us for coffee at 2:00 pm and the presentation at 2:30 pm.
Professional development hours will be awarded.
Good Afternoon Everyone,
Please excuse any cross posts. This is just to remind you that this year’s Long Island History Committee’s Genealogy and Local History Program Showcase is on Thursday, April 27 at SCLS. We have a wonderful variety of programmers this year, so I hope you’ll be able to join us. Refreshments will be served at 9:30 AM and the presentations will run from 10:00 AM to approximately 12:00 Noon. There will also be time before and after the presentations to speak to the programmers.
Pass the word on to your friends and join us on the 27th. Please let me know if you will be attending so that I can plan accordingly.
Hope to see you there,
Chair – RASD Long Island History Committee of SCLA, a regional chapter of NYLA
