Exit 39 North, proceed north on Deer Park Avenue (Rt. 231) about 5 miles to Vanderbilt Parkway (traffic light). Make a left turn on to Vanderbilt Parkway. Proceed approximately one mile to the library (on your right.)

5/12/2011 – This Thursday!

Northport Public Library

Approval of Minutes from February meeting held on 4/7/2011 A. West

Demonstrations and Discussions:

Anthony Martocello will be discussing and demonstrating some VMWare Solutions
that the Northport-East Northport Library has put in place.

Stephen Ingram will talk about the Northport-East Northport Library
website (www.nenpl.org) and how Anthony Martocello developed a PHP
back-end system that allows select staff members to update events,
weblinks, new items lists and database information dynamically with a
simple interface and no html programing skill (a little helps though).

The Northport-East Northport Library also has a HP Designjet Z5200
printer which is used in-house to print posters ranging in width from
24 to 44 inches to whatever length.

We will also be discussing and demonstrating some updated Web-based OS solutions

Technology Information Forum – Social Networking for Good

Social Networking for Good

Please come join our presentation at the Technology Information Forum meeting on June 3, 2010 at 10:00AM at the South Country Public Library. You will hear several case studies and testimonials, as well as a discussion on privacy, procedures, and an introduction to policy creation. The demonstration and discussion is open to all.

We will have multiple presenters showing off their libraries social networking pages, how its maintained and how it has been working for them. Presenters include:

Eric Cohen of John Jermaine Memorial Library
Arleen West of East Hampton Library
Stephen Ingram of Northport-East Northport Public Library
Jason Ladick of Connequot Public Library

We encourage Directors, Librarians, and all other public services staff to attend.
