The East End Tech Coalition (EETC) strives to link all IT, Digital Services, and other Technology-Related Library Personnel working in libraries on the East End of Long Island. EETC’s focus is to highlight the unique hurdles and opportunities that East End libraries face when looking to provide innovative technology services and programs and to collaborate with one another to find solutions to these obstacles. EETC welcomes all who are interested in learning about the possibilities and challenges that occur with providing quality technology-related library services on the East End of Long Island. This coalition will operate as a subdivision of the Computer and Technical Services Division (CATS) of The Suffolk County Library Association (SCLA) to spread awareness of these hurdles and possibilities; all the while utilizing CATS’ resources to plan programming and events, find solutions, and generate new ideas for the tech staff on the East End. This committee, as part of its mission, will:
- Hold regularly scheduled meetings/programming that serve the needs of the aforementioned library personnel.
- As it is a coalition, publish a list of CATS members who are a part of the EETC so colleagues may contact their peers with questions relating to its mission.
- On behalf of the EETC meeting attendees, make recommendations to the CATS Board regarding their needs and concerns.
- Follow the rules and regulations set forth by CATS and SCLA.
