June Cataloging Roundtable

Technology Information Forum – Social Networking for Good

Social Networking for Good

Please come join our presentation at the Technology Information Forum meeting on June 3, 2010 at 10:00AM at the South Country Public Library. You will hear several case studies and testimonials, as well as a discussion on privacy, procedures, and an introduction to policy creation. The demonstration and discussion is open to all.

We will have multiple presenters showing off their libraries social networking pages, how its maintained and how it has been working for them. Presenters include:

LILC – Open Source and Free Applications

We hope everyone who came to our presentation of Open Source and Free Applications at the Long Island Library Conference enjoyed it. Over 150 handouts and CD’s went flying off of the table and all of the attendants stayed late to enjoy the presentation as given by Robert Johnson and Ted Gutmann.

A very special Thank You goes out to the members of the CATS Board for dedication of their time and talents to make our presence at the 2010 Long Island Library Conference as well as all other events successful.

Tuesday, March 16th at the Brentwood Public Library, we will be holding the Technical Services Roundtable. The topic is Inventory, Weeding and Collection Development. Coffee at 9:30am, Presentation begins at 10:00am.

Join us at the Technical Services Forum for a panel discussion moderated by Sue Ketcham of Long Island University. We will be sharing ideas on how to keep our library collections current and fulfilling the unique needs of our community.
